Hooray for Grandmas!

I have completely overrun my Grandma's House!
She is being the best little nurse to me!
I had no idea it would be this bad,
nor that I'd need this much help,
but I have it and am very grateful!

Big Gulps Huh?!

I just sent Jarom to get a journal for me, but it will be much easier to type it all out before I forget.
So warning: This post isn't meant to entertain. Just facts I want recorded.

Today I got my tonsils out!

Yeppers-I've been having issues for the last few years and recently the one side is almost always swollen, bothering me, etc. So they dug em out!

I got to the Hospital at 8 and got all signed in, peed in the cup, and got dressed in my beautiful green gown :) hehe....Hate those things!

My friend Royanne was my nurse in pre-op (I think that's what they call it). It was nice to have a friend, because I wasn't sure what to expect, my stomach was in knots, and thinking about things that could happen was not a good thing. So all the little chatting helped keep me relaxed.

Anyway, after the surgery nurse came in and talked with me, she decided to switch my meds because of the reaction I've had with two others in the past. I was very grateful that she was so thorough and cared. The last time I was in the hospital, let's just say, it didn't happen like that!

She got me goin on something, slipped my cap on and wheeled me into the OR room. I vaguely remember something about the room, but even now I can't really give any detail about it.

The next thing I know, it was 11:30 and I was in recovery! It was CRAZY! It felt like I'd barely blinked my eyes and bam, I was done!

The nurse in recovery is a girl that went to Thatcher and we played volleyball and basketball against each other. I was grateful again for a great nurse. It was fun communicating as I couldn't (and still can't) talk. At first I'd enter what I wanted into my phone and she'd read it. Then, she got me a clip board and I think I went through 3-4 pages, back to back. It wasn't the best communication ever, but it got the job done.

At first, I was real dizzy, obviously, coming off the anesthesia. Then, I started feeling better in that regard, but got really hot! They took all the blankets off and gave me a sheet. I ended up just tucking it between my legs so no one would get a show. I got ice packs and a cool rag but everytime I would start to fall asleep I'd get so warm. That finally wore off about an hour into it. I think it was a mix of my body dealing with everything and myself, being clostrophobic. The oxygen mask was a killer. I still feel like I'm wearing it!

Then....

I had to pee. "Oh jeez...this is going to be fun" I thought. It was pretty sweet actually! She wheeled my bed into the bathroom and right up next to the toilet! Ya dawg! I'm thinkin I like this service!   :)

All went well in the potty :) Then it was back to bed. They offered me the medicine I'd be taking at home but I only took 1/3 of it, because I didn't want to get dizzy or warm again.

I hung out for a little while longer, then my Grandma Sherry came to get me. I love her! She's letting me stay at her house for the next 2 days, so I don't have to worry about talking to my kids. My mother in law is watching them. My parents cleaned up my house and my dad got me the meds before I even got out of the hospital! Jarom just left to get me a journal and more popsickles. Man, I really am blessed and I'd say a bit spoiled right now. I really am grateful for such great family and friends. I've been told by many of my friends that they are praying for me. It's also nice to have an "almost" RN for a sister! I love it! Thanks Valerie for always helping! And sharing your expert advice :)

THANK YOU!
To EACH of you.
It means a lot and I can feel it~and know it has done good.

I bet it's hard for most of you to believe that I'm actually NOT talking! haha!

On a funny note:
My sister said that she bets I was saying funny stuff coming off the anesthesia. I'm excited to find out from my nurse! I just thought I woke up sane, but she thinks not!

Also, it was crazy how I'd be awake, sane, and then close my eyes and be dreaming instantly! Even when I could hear what was going on around me I was still dreaming and felt like I was wherever I was in my dream!

HAHA,
If you can't tell, I'm not an experienced druggie!! LOL!

My kids just got here so I'll post more when I can.
But that's the main scoop-
Now I think I'll go for a scoop of Ice cream!
Woot Woot! Definitly my favorite part!!!!!!

So much for that resolution!

Ha!
So, I guess I flunked that New Year's resolution test!
Life's just been rollin along and I haven't been doing much of a lot of things I used to do. Suprisingly my camera has been on the shelf most of this year! I've been enjoying more of my kids and just soaking it in instead of trying to document it all. It's been a good break. We are doing very well however!
We have seen so many blessings already this year. We can't wait for the temple that will be dedicated on May 23rd!! It really will be such a HUGE blessing in this little valley we call home. I cannot wait to be able to call a friend on a moment's notice to come watch my kids while I "run" to the temple instead of having to make a 6 hour drive roundtrip!
These are some of the awesome pics that David Palmer has taken of the temple:

CAN'T WAIT!!

Anyway,
the kids are still growing like weeds! They are only 1 pound apart and about an inch in height difference! Braden is ALL boy and Brooke is all girl, and part mom/boss...she wears the pants around here with her little attitude!

Here are some of the most recent Brooke-isms that I have written down. She says a hundred a day, I am constantly crackin up at her!

~Explaining how to find her phone: "When you go in there look on the left bottom, and you will see my purse, and inside are some cute things and if you take them out you will find my phone!"

~Talking to me about Grandpa Skyler: "Is he your dad?" (yes) "Did you know he was my brother when you got married?!"

~Getting ready one Sunday morning, Jarom asked her if she was hungry, to which she replied, "No, and besides...they have bread at church!"

~"Look! I drew a firework! But it's not shooting because it's on my paper."

~Me (after she was acting CRAZY):  "Brooke, You're on Crack!"
Brooke: "I got it from my daddy!"

~"Mom, can I have some Hanitizer, cuz I just touched a germ?!"

~After noticing the fog outside she shouted to Braden: "BRADEN!! Look outside! See the FROG?! The clouds are low, low, low, so it's really FROGGY and we can't see grandma Sherry's house!"

~A recent prayer: "...please bless Braden not to bite me anymore. Please bless my owie to get better by morningtime. Please bless me not to pee in the bed so we can have a panty party and everyone can come. Amen"

Hahaha, I love that little woman! Today I said, "Brooke, take off your pull-up cuz it's soaked!" To which she replied, "It's a DIAPER Sweetie!"

Sweetie?! Sometimes I feel like I'm the 2 year old and she's the mom!

Braden is starting to talk up a storm too...it won't be long before they are both chattin the day away! Which, I'm excited for-they can ask each other "why?" all day long and answer each other and give me a break! It's hard to answer those why questions when they never end!

I'm so grateful for my little crazies!

Here are a few pics from the last couple months:

Snow!!

I absolutely love where I live! I love that I could be outside in a T and shorts and within 15 minutes be in SNOW!  Here are a few pics from our little adventure today! The kids could barely walk, but had a blast...that is until they both faceplanted in the snow! Then it was definitly time to go home! I SO wish I had the camera out at that time! Poor babies-but it sure was funny!

In case you were wondering, you have to stand in this cool pose when you try on your snow boots!

The snow level was so low that we had snow on every mountain that surrounds the Gila Valley! I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've ever seen that in my life! The above picture is just at the base of the mountain. We stopped and played at Noon Creek, the very first rest stop and there was well over a foot of snow!

My girl

This girl cracks me up! I swear, she is me in a 2 year old's body! I'll let the pictures do the explaining!

Had to throw in a little photo shop fun...

Love that girl!

A New Year's Resolution and a Truckload of Pictures!

So, let's face it...I've been slackin in the blog department lately! I know there are a few faithful readers out there who have quit checkin because it's been so long! SO...da da da...I decided to make it a new year's resolution-and am going to be updating my blog once a week.

So to play catch  up I added a ton of pictures from the last 3 months or so. Sorry if you get bored seeing picture after picture of my kids, but let's face it. They are my kids! Don't have much else to blog about- I love em!

So here's to a new year and a better blog!

Carving Pumpkins for Halloween. She was quite grossed out by the yellow goo. But you can tell she's definitly my kid in this picture!

Brooke said we should name the pumpkin Braden,
so we gave him one little tooth since Braden only had 1 at the time!

Dasha and I as the "swine flu"

My crazy dad dressed up with the kids

A little too much turkey for this guy.
He didn't even make it to dessert!

Everyone in my life should know that if they make a
funny face at me while I'm taking pictures...
they WILL end up on my blog! You've been warned.

like he got it for me but it's really for him.
One word...NOPE!
We've already been out and I did dang good hitting the clay pigeons!
This is so my gift-it's just me I guess. Not the usual wife gift-
but I'm not a usual wife :)

Rock'n out!

Jarom made it through opening presents then was OUT!
Did I mention we were up at 4:30am?!?!
Brooke was so excited. I stayed in bed with them on Christmas eve so they wouldn't wander int othe living room and I opened my eyes, getting ready to check on the kids and saw Brooke sitting up in bed. As soon as she saw my eyes open she said, "Mom! It's morningtime!" Needless to say, I haven't caught up on sleep yet! But it was fun and I was just as excited too.

He fell asleep as soon as we got to my
mom's for presents and breakfast!!
Did I mention we woke up at 4:30 am?!

Here's the stud-Brendon!

Grandma Wanda suprised the kids with Dilly Bars yesterday! Yum Yum!

I'm making these pictures for each of our Primary kids this year on their birthday. It's a little work, but will be worth it.
It will mean so much more than a bag of candy!

PHEW! If you made it through all that...good job!
I'm excited to begin a new year with a new outlook, new calling, new motivations, a new temple that will be dedicated in 4 months...
This year will be a good year!
